ABOUT ROSWELL FINE ARTS ALLIANCE (RFAA)

Almost four decades ago, a group of ten artists renovated a chicken coop for a working studio and a place to teach art and thus the Alliance was born. Through the vision of these founding artists and many growing pains, our alliance has grown over the years to a thriving and active membership of over 140 members. We welcome all levels of artists from beginner to professional in a friendly and nurturing environment where artists help one another to learn new techniques, to improve their work, and to succeed in the art world.

Our main purpose is to conduct educational programs, exhibits, and demonstrations, and to actively support educational and charitable community projects to stimulate appreciation in the Fine Arts. We have hosted hundreds of art shows, workshops, fundraisers and artist demonstrations. We have partnered with local business interests, Cobb County Art Centers, Georgia State University and the City of Roswell, to name a few, to bring opportunities for our members to show their work and to provide encouragement to student artists through scholarships and prizes. We currently give over $2000 per year in scholarships to area high school students who plan to pursue a career in the fine arts field through our annual High School Show Competition.

We host a state of the art Website www.rfaa.org, with postings of current events in the alliance as well as in the community of interests to artists and patrons of the arts. We provide an on-line gallery of member artists’ work and links to individual artist’s websites. Many of our members have emerged into the art scene as successful artists not only well known locally but nationally and abroad. Through juried shows, member shows, venues, workshops, and corporate and civic sponsors, we have made a lasting impact on the future of building the City of Roswell into a vibrant art community.
