ROSWELL FINE ARTS ALLIANCE (RFAA) ALLIANCE ART SHOWS
ART SHOWS
2008 Genesis Juried Art Show
Once again, this year the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance will sponsor a juried show of
member’s artwork that will publicize the work of the Alliance, provide experienced
artists a unique venue for their artwork, but could also serve as a learning opportunity for
those of us who have seldom if ever submitted our work to a juried show. The “Genesis
XIV Show” will be held at Once & Again Books 1580 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell,
GA 30076 from Monday, November 10, 2008 through Friday, January 30, 2009. A
reception for members and guests will be held at the store from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on
Monday, November 10. Once & Again owner, Patricia Sims, has been extremely
supportive and helpful as we planned this special learning-focused show, and is providing
a very attractive venue.
Juror: Na Na Huang: The Roswell Fine Arts Alliance is pleased to secure the expertise of Ms. Na Na Huang as juror for this prestigious annual event. Ms. Huang is a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Art and Design, is currently a teacher and art coordinator for the Chinese Center for the Arts in Chamblee and has an art teaching background of 18 years. She spent 6 years as an art illustrator and designer for a yearbook company and has juried numerous art shows.
The 2008 HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION AND SHOW for art students in seven North Fulton County was held in February 1008. Hosted and supported by the Roswell Visual Arts Center, scholarships, cash prizes, and gift certificates were awarded to the winners. Sybiy Herren was curator.
An open MEMBERS SHOW was held at the Art Gallery of Georgia in Woodstock in February and March. Sue Ottosen was curator.
Our ART EXHIBITION AND SALE accompanying the Roswell Riverside Sounds Concert Series will be on the late afternoon and evening of the first Saturday of each month during May through October. Beth Kirk will be the curator.
The BIG SHANTY JURIED ART SHOW for RFAA members will be held in Kennesaw during the month of August. Nancy Guerrine will be the curator.
