Facebook followers, be sure to connect to the RFAA page to find exciting monthly on-line challenges! A theme is given; past themes have included ducks, self-portraits, lights, and a desert scene. This activity is totally optional, and you may enter one or two (no more, please) of your pieces directly onto the site. It is delightful to see the interpretations and styles of fellow members!

Guerrilla Workshops are free, down and dirty three-hour sessions open to members who volunteer to gallery sit each quarter. Sitting once in a quarter qualifies the member to sign up for that quarter’s workshop. Examples of topics include Collage, Plein Air Painting, Artwork for Greeting Cards, Pastel Basics and more. See the calendar and emails for dates.

As part of RFAA´s partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC), our “Artists in the Wild” plein air group paints at the CNC on Tuesdays during spring and summer months from 10:00 to 1:00. Watch the calendar for change of time to 9:00am as the weather gets warmer. Check the calendar for current dates. Members paint free, guests will pay the regular admittance fee to the CNC. Our members wear turquoise so that visitors can spot us. We welcome additions to our group. Contact Sherry Hardage (sherry.hardage@gmail.com) for more information and to sign up.

In February, RFAA celebrates our membership with an annual festive themed luncheon. Besides plenty of tasty food, and fun activities, it's an opportunity to visit with old friends and make some new ones while hearing what's going on in our local art community.

In August, current members welcome our new members with an informative get together, held at the Art Center East on Fouts Road. Seasoned members provide “newbies" with lots of helpful information including how to properly prepare art for shows, appropriate pricing, copyright information, and an overview of our social media. This is also a great opportunity for new members to make new friends and learn where they can volunteer their gifts and talents at RFAA.

In December, members gather and enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine and great conversation. It is a time to reflect upon another busy year of art making and friendship.
